The attack on the house of a citizen and more so on a journalist, like the one yesterday on my colleague Klodiana Lala, for me who have experienced and continue to experience the threats and violence of criminal groups, people clothed in power, shows them unfortunately, how easy it is to attack journalists or their relatives. It shows how easy it is to try to shut them up. It shows how vulnerable journalists are against criminal groups. It shows how difficult it is to work in this profession in Albania. It shows how scary our profession is, while we try to be transmitters of what happens, not judges of it.
When the aggression reaches this point, it USA Phone Number is no longer a threat, but a real attack to try to stop someone from continuing to talk to me, to stop someone from continuing to do their work. And this especially for journalists. We are the ones who try to show everyone else's concerns, but we never talk about ourselves. This happens even though we can constantly be under the threat and aggression of anyone we come across. We are under threats and brutal aggression from whoever is in power and its officials, if he or they don't like this.
We are under the aggression of anyone who is a character of street crime and organized crime who does not fit the bill. Despite all the blackmail threats we experience, the risks we take, the work of journalists is not as beautiful as it appears on our screens. Many people know, but many others do not, that journalists are often barricaded at the doors of the administration, swearing and insults are common, lynchings are not absent. Through crime scenes, many of us can be blackmailed into not taking pictures, interviews and not doing their jobs. if any eyes think of doing any investigation, it is hard to finish it, the sticks in the streets, they are not like the usual ones of journalism that we see in the world, or even in third countries, or those in conflicts.
